Our Mission

Artist Presentations & Interviewer Dialogues
Artists Talk on Art (ATOA) is an IRS recognized registered 501(c)3 non-profit corporation, and has been dedicated to enriching the global cultural landscape through critical conversations in the arts since 1974. With over 1,200 events under our belts, we continue to engage artists, critics, curators and historians, providing a platform to connect diverse voices and ideas. Historically, we have recorded over 9,000 art world participants.
Our diverse and inclusive coverage spans a variety of artistic disciplines, and a broad range of visual aesthetics. We welcome proposals for engaging talks that spur thoughtful dialogue.
ATOA not only cultivates appreciation for the arts but also fosters community through cooperation. As we continue to grow, we invite you to join us and contribute to the vibrant arts culture we foster.

50th anniversary Gala by permission
A significant portion of the recent content comes from Virtual Open Studios, which became more frequent during and after the pandemic.
-
Artist Showcases: These are sessions where multiple individual artists present their work, often digital, and discuss how current events (like the pandemic) or social issues have influenced their surrealist, conceptual, or portrait-based practice.
-
Process and Philosophy: Artists use this forum to talk about their creative evolution, the meaning behind their work, their unique inspiration, and how new tools like social media are critical to documenting their creative path.
Through various online talks we highlight emerging artists and showcase innovative artworks, enriching the cultural dialogue and presenting new perspectives.

Panels
Our panels series features leading experts discussing pivotal topics in the visual arts. From aesthetic and conceptual topics, where discussions often center on broad conceptual themes in art, such as "Telling Stories: Narrative Forms and Strategies" or explorations of how artists express narratives through aesthetic and material choices to panels focused on the "History of Artists Talk on Art" with our co-founders.
We host discussions that focus on specific art techniques or collaborations between different roles in the art world.
We feature artists and master craftspeople (like master printers) discussing the technical aspects, materials, and processes of various art mediums.
